56-Year-Old Pedestrian Suffers Critical Injuries after Hit by SUV on Wooley Road in Oxnard
OXNARD, CA (December 10, 2024) – A man was critically injured in a pedestrian accident on Wooley Road in Oxnard Sunday morning on December 8.
The accident happened around 8:25 a.m. just east of Oxnard Boulevard. According to the Oxnard Police Department, the 56-year-old Oxnard man was crossing Wooley Road along a part of the street not intended for pedestrian use when he was hit by an SUV that slowed but could not stop in time.
Another vehicle that was also heading in the same direction was able to stop in time and avoid hitting the pedestrian.
Responding paramedics rushed the victim to Ventura County Medical Center in critical condition.
Both drivers remained on scene and cooperated with police.
It does not appear speed or impairment were factors in the crash. An investigation is ongoing.
