Elderly Woman Dies after Struck by Transit Van on Berkeley Avenue in Echo Park

 
ECHO PARK, CA (January 19, 2025) – An 87-year-old woman was killed in a hit-and-run crash at Berkeley Avenue and Allesandro Street in Echo Park on Monday night.
 
The fatal crash happened around 6:50 p.m. on January 13. According to the Los Angeles Police Department, the elderly woman was walking westbound inside a crosswalk when a dark-colored Ford Transit van heading southbound on Allesanro Street struck her.
 
After striking her, the driver of the van took off without stopping to render aid.
 
First responders pronounced the woman dead at the scene.
 
At this time, the victim’s identity was not immediately available.
 
The city offers a reward of up to $50,000 for information leading to the identification, arrest, and conviction of the suspect.
