Samantha Haun Killed in Wrong-Way DUI Crash on Highway 18 [Apple Valley, CA]

30-Year-Old Woman Dies after Crash with Wrong-Way DUI Driver in Apple Valley

 
APPLE VALLEY, CA (December 30, 2024) – Samantha Haun was killed in a wrong-way DUI crash in Apple Valley Monday evening on December 23.
 
The fatal crash happened around 8:00 p.m. on Highway 18 at Quinnault Road. According to the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department, 45-year-old Vicente Zuniga-Medina of Hesperia was driving his 2024 Mitsubishi Outlander in the wrong direction of the highway when he slammed head-on into Haun’s 2016 Honda Civic.
 
Haun, also known as Alex Robles, suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene. She was a 30-year-old Victorville resident.
 
Zuniga-Medina showed signs and symptoms of being under the influence of alcohol. He was arrested on suspicion of DUI causing death and gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated.
 
Bail for Zuniga-Medina was set at $250,000.
